We calculate our carbon footprint by capturing data from our corporate operations in order to enable carbon offsetting company-wide.
In 2018, Fidelis Insurance offset 125% of total carbon emissions and that increased to 150% in 2019. In 2020, due to the pandemic, Fidelis Insurance' footprint was much smaller than in previous years. Whilst a smaller carbon footprint is good for the planet, we still wanted to support global sustainable projects, so we chose to offset 200% for 2020 to continue to make a difference to our chosen projects, Communitree and Hazda Hunter Gatherers. For 2021, Fidelis Insurance offset 150% of carbon emissions and for 2022 it offset 110%.
In 2023, The Fidelis Partnership’s calculated its first standalone carbon footprint and offset this at 110% (including Scope 3 operational emissions)
The Fidelis Partnership’s Green Team is made up of colleagues from our international offices. We monitor our energy usage, waste production and total carbon footprint to ensure The Fidelis Partnership stays vigilant in reducing its negative impact on the environment. All our employees are responsible for working with the Green Team to help us achieve our aims, targets and objectives.
The Fidelis Partnership is committed to encouraging employees to recycle as much as possible, both at home and at work. We provide regular training and Q&A sessions to help employees with their efforts. Regular communications are circulated to all staff keeping them informed about news, updates on our projects and useful green initiatives. Employees are encouraged to share their ideas and experiences in order to help the Green Team.
We take advantage of local recycling and waste management schemes to avoid unnecessary landfill wherever possible. We use recycled, sustainable sources for paper and have distributed reusable coffee cups and tote bags to all staff. We also regularly test new sustainable products for potential adoption.
Below is Our vision for the future which acts as our guide for all Green Team discussions:
